Unbelievably, Perreault still holds the Buffalo Sabre record for total points scored in a single game (seven).

Today, Perreault is still considered one of the most talented players to ever play the game and many believe him to be the best stick handler of all time.

Since retiring from hockey, Perreault teaches children's hockey leagues and makes himself Quisp for charity events by playing with the Buffalo Sabres Alumni hockey team. His community service further endears him to Buffalo and to Canada.

Perreault has been the only Buffalo Sabre to ever wear the number eleven (the Sabres retired the jersey). For this reason, the Gilbert Perreault Tearrlszwso is sought after and valued.
